Additional Applications

As an oxygen carrier, PHER-O2 may be applicable to fields other than medicine. Oxygen is an oxidizer with ubiquitous applications. Biological and carbon-based energy utility requires oxygen for reactivity. PHER-O2 has application in the fields of personal care, household care, manufacturing and combustion.

Personal Care Applications
At high concentrations, oxygen has the ability to kill cells of all types, including bacteria, yeast and molds. PHER-O2 may be used in topical applications for germ and odor control. Sanguine’s technology may find its way into deodorants and antibacterial rinses and washes. Some strong applications would be: body deodorants, mouthwash, earwash, acne cleanser and antiseptic wound cleanser.

There are other applications in personal care which require the presence of an oxidizer. For example, hair curling and straightening solutions requires oxidation for effective cross-linking of hair keratin, which results in the desired effect.

Household Care Applications
PHER-O2 may also have applications in the home. PHER-O2 may be used in cleansers/deodorizers for cleaning around the bath and kitchen, or around pets. It might find application in stain removers, clothing treatments or detergent solutions, where oxygen is the key to reactivity.

Process Applications
There is a multitude of uses for the technology in large-scale production. Contamination of food with fecal matter and other bacterial matter is a major problem in food preparation across the world. PHER-O2 may become a non-toxic cleansing solution for meat and fish.

Many fermentation processes used for the production of vital drugs are also dependent upon oxygen concentration. PHER-O2 technology may present more efficient ways to process these drugs.

Waste treatment, prevention and treatment of pipeline sludge, algal blooms and other microorganism-related process obstructions are dependent upon optimal oxygen levels. Furthermore, countless numbers of process chemical reactions rely upon oxygen to take place. PHER-O2 may have literally thousands of applications.

Combustion Applications
Finally, the technology may be applicable in combustion processes. Combustion of carbonic materials depends completely upon oxygen. Carbon-based PFCs, which can hold high concentrations of oxygen, may be the ideal additive to special aviation fuels to increase combustion efficiencies and decrease the incidence of algal mats, which can block flow.
